Using specific and gentle adjustments of the joints in the body to improve function and mobility and to reduce pain. By increasing movement in joints which are not moving as they should do, the body can resume normal function allowing you to do the things you love without fear of pain.
| Your First Session |
During your first session a detailed history of your complaint will be taken, this includes information about the onset and the course your pain has taken since it began. This allows the chiropractor to build up a good idea of the processes that are underlying the pain you are experiencing before the examination even begins. Once the history has been taken the physical examination will begin. The purpose of the exam is to identify the exact tissues that are causing the problems allowing a specific plan of management to be formulated. After the examination is completed, a plan of management specific to you and taking into consideration all aspects of the history and examination will be given to you. This includes a comprehensive explanation of your condition and an outline of the course of treatment which will be taken. At this point any questions you have will be answered. Your chiropractic care can then commence on the first session. |

| Dry Needling: A form of acupuncture which uses acupuncture needles to reduce joint and muscle pain. Dry needling is especially effective when injured tissue is too sensitive for deep tissue massage to be effective. Dry needling provides deep and focal relief and is very useful in RSI’s (such as tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome) and chronic muscle injury. |

| Deep Tissue Massage: Using deep friction to break up adhesions and scar tissue between layers of muscle, aiding tissue repair. Deep tissue massage has been shown to be helpful in increasing mobility, reducing pain and decreasing stress. A small amount of deep tissue massage will often be used in conjunction with chiropractic care, but longer more thorough sessions are available on request. |
